Kildare biogas plant meeting taking place next week

Cycle0 Biogas Plant in Lleida Spain
An event regarding plans to build a biogas plant in south Kildare has been rescheduled and will take place this Wednesday.
The meeting will take place in the Talbot Hotel on 5 March and organised by the CycleØ Group who propose to build a development at Ballyvass.
European firm CycleØ say the event is an opportunity for the local community in the area close to the proposed plant to learn more about the plans. In attendance will be members of the CycleØ team, representatives from Gas Networks Ireland and the Irish Bioenergy Association.
This team will explain the plans for the plant, along with “the built-in safety and environmental protection features”. The event takes place between 2-7pm.
In a statement, CycleØ Ireland Country Manager James Manley said: “We are very much looking forward to holding this open community event, as we have done elsewhere in Ireland.
“This is a chance for local residents to speak to us about our plans at Ballyvass, and to address any concerns they may have. Along with Gas Networks Ireland, we’ll also explain benefits the plans will bring to Ireland to help achieve the renewable gas targets set by the Irish government”.
CycleØ have yet to seek planning permission but opposition to the proposal has been building locally in recent weeks.
