KYRIE Farm, a charity working to establish a nature-based mental health therapeutic farm in Ardclough, Co Kildare, is inviting people to take part in its Step Up for Recovery 5K this September.

The fundraising event will take place at Malahide Castle on Saturday, 26 September, from 10am to 2pm, with flexible start times. Walkers will meet at the castle’s main entrance car park along the R107 Back Road.

The charity is also encouraging those unable to attend in Malahide to complete the 5K wherever they are in Ireland or around the world.

Kyrie Farm was established following the McKeon family’s tragic loss of their son and brother, Kieran. Their search for new approaches to mental health recovery led them to nature-based therapeutic communities such as Gould Farm and Hopewell Farm in the US, inspiring the vision for Kyrie.

The proposed 57-acre farm will combine nature, meaningful participation, community and professional support to help people move towards recovery, health and independence.

Tickets cost €15 individually or €30 for a family, with all proceeds supporting the Kyrie Farm project.
