Kildare councillor gives present to Conor McGregor

Cllr Tom McDonnell and Conor McGregor

Kildare county councillor Tom McDonnell gave Conor McGregor a copy of the constitution while the divisive fighter also received a bottle of holy water.

The independent councillor who has courted his own fair share of controversy was at McGregor’s the Black Forge Inn this week as US pundit Tucker Carlson paid a visit to Ireland.

In a video posted on cllr McDonnell’s Facebook, the Newbridge representative says he has presented a 1937 copy of Bunreacht na hÉireann to McGregor.

A beaming McGregor replies: “Tom, I appreciate it so much and the Holy Water from Knock. God bless Ireland.”

McGregor holds the two items up to the camera along with a cigar.

“God bless you Conor,” says cllr McDonnell. “Well done.”

Mr McDonnell has previously denied that he is a far-right politician or anti-immigration but stressed that he was against mass uncontrolled immigration, a view that McGregor has also shared repeatedly.
