Kildare County Council confirms purchase of Newbridge Hall
O'Modhráin Hall on Newbridge's Cutlery Road
KILDARE County Council has confirmed that the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) process for Ó Modhráin Hall in Newbridge has been completed.
In response to a question from cllr Chris Pender at the September meeting of the Kildare–Newbridge Municipal District, officials said the vesting date for the property’s transfer to the council was 3 September.
The town regeneration team is now awaiting formal confirmation of the title transfer from Tailte Éireann.
Cllr Pender had sought an update on whether any delays or issues had arisen in the process. The council confirmed that acquisition is complete and no complications have been reported.
This update comes in the context of the previous refusal of the CPO issued by Kildare County Council earlier this year of the hall which had been previously zoned for community purposes.
Now with the council’s acquisition of the property, the plans are back in action.
Cllr Pender, happy with the news, said: “I’m delighted to see the compulsory purchase order for Ó Modhráin Hall is completed.” The future use of Ó Modhráin Hall is expected to be considered as part of Newbridge’s broader town regeneration plans.
