Kildare estate's footpaths in 'awful state'

OOTPATH upgrades are to be considered for Allenview Heights in Newbridge in 2025, according a report to the recent meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District.

Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer sought a confirmation that the area is on the path works programme for next year.

She noted that trees had been removed at the location in 2022, to facilitate such works.

"The paths are in an awful state and I have been raising this for a number of years," she said. "It was confirmed to me two years ago that it was essential to have some trees removed, and working with the Parks Department the trees were removed. However, the paths remain undone."

The reply was that the municipal district Office will be preparing the footpath tender early in 2025 and will include the location for consideration.
