Unfortunately, this week a number of fire crews across county Kildare have been victims to significant anti-social behaviour while attending fire calls.
“One of our appliances came under attack while approaching a bonfire and suffered damage caused from rocks and missiles with fireworks thrown at our crew members attending the fire,” said a spokesperson.
“Our fire and emergency crews are here to keep the community of County Kildare safe. These senseless attacks on our vehicles and personnel makes the community less safe,” he said.
Elsewhere, youths targeted houses with fireworks in Naas on Halloween night.
A small group aimed fireworks at houses and gardens of residents of an estate near Ballycane at around 8pm.
During October, fireworks are set off on a nightly basis in the area, according to a local but this was the first occasion where several were aimed people’s property.
“It sounded like a bomb,” said the resident. “Why would you do it?”
