Kildare gardaí discover speeding driver had eight-year ban

Kildare gardaí detected a speeding driver recently who turned out to have an eight-year driving ban.
Naas Roads Policing Unit made the detection when operating a speed checkpoint on the R402 Ardkill, Carbury.
The driver was detected travelling 105kph in an 80kph zone.
“A check using the mobility App revealed that the driver was disqualified for 8 years and had no insurance,” said the an Garda Siochana Kildare Facebook page.
The driver was arrested and faces a date in court for multiple road traffic offences. The car was also impounded.
Separately, the roads policing unit were on patrol on the M7 in an unmarked car and observed a car “driving in an erratic manner”.
The car was stopped, and the driver was also found to have received a driving ban while also driving without insurance or an NCT. The driver was arrested and will appear before a court. The vehicle was impounded too.
