Kildare gardeners sought for Bloom 2025

'The Cloak and the Oak' Postcard Garden entry from 5th class in St Brigid's Primary School in Kildare town, which won at Bloom last year

Bord Bia is calling for Kildare gardening groups and enthusiasts to participate at this year’s ‘Bloom’, by designing and delivering their very own green space at the celebrated summer event.

Hopefully a Kildare entry might emulate Mr Dunne’s 5th Class at St Brigid’s Primary School in Kildare town which won a Certificate of Distinction for their highly impressive ‘The Cloak and the Oak’.

The popular ‘Postcard Gardens’ feature provides community groups, schools, charitable organisations and garden clubs with the opportunity to tell local stories to a national audience through creative garden design.

They are one of the many horticultural attractions at the much-loved flowers, food and family festival which returns to the Phoenix Park in Dublin for five days over the June Bank Holiday Weekend (29 May– 2 June).

All entries must be in by 6 March, and applications to do so cn be downloaded from the Bord Bia website.

As the name suggests, Postcard Gardens measure just 3m x 2m, and are proof that wonderful outdoor spaces can be created at any size.

Now in its 19th year, Bloom attracts more than 100,000 visitors, and early tickets are €25, and u16 kids are free.
