Kildare man pleads to intimidation of witness and possession of tracking device

A MAN engaged in the intimidation and blackmail of a witness, which included putting a tracking device on his car, pleaded guilty at a sitting of Naas Circuit Court.

Patrick Coady (36) with an address at 4 Patrician Avenue, Naas, pleaded guilty to two separate counts of intimidation and black mail and possession of a tracking device before Judge Elva Duffy.

It was heard that on 25 September 2025 Mr Coady made a demand for money of the injured party at Ballymore Eustace and was in possession of a tracking device, which he used with the offense. He plead guilty to both counts.

Mr Coady offered his remorse and apology to the affected family, through his defence counsel present at Naas Circuit Court.

Mr Coady will appear before Naas Circuit Court for sentencing on 9 October 2026.
