Kildare County Council invites the public to sign up for a free alerts service that allows subscribers to receive important notifications from Kildare County Council.
The council has partnered with the MapAlerter.ie service to provide targeted messages to subscribers, which can be received via email and/or text message.
These alerts will include information on weather warnings, road closures, updates on public consultations and planning applications in your local area.
Welcoming the initiative, the cathaoirleach of Kildare County Council, cllr Kevin Duffy said: “Communicating with our communities in a prompt way is vital.”
“While updates on our website and on social media are effective to a degree, this service ensures that a message lands directly to a mobile phone at the time when its needed and contributes to getting updates directly to the people of the county, related to the areas where they live”.
Sonya Kavanagh, Chief Executive, Kildare County Council added: “I would encourage everyone to log onto https://kildare.mapalerter.com/register and to sign up for this free service.”
