Brian Dowling has named his first Kildare team of 2026 for the clash against Galway in the opening round of the Dioralyte Walsh Cup at Cedral St Conleths Park on Sunday, throw in 1.30pm.

It’s mix of old and new, with eight players named in the starting 15 that started the McDonagh Cup final win over Laois.

The likes of Mark Doyle, Evan O Briain and James Dolan have been around the squad and get the chance to stake a claim for a place in the team, while there are also chances for Celbridge’s Alan Goss, Clane’s Caolan Smith and Tim Ryan of Ardclough.
