Kildare TikTok creator being sued by ‘Sylvanian Families’ toy company

KILDARE-BASED content creator of the popular ‘SylvanianDrama’ TikTok page, Thea Von Engelbrechten, has entered settlement talks with Epoch toy company – owners of the Sylvanian brand, after being sued by them in April of this year.
The Kildare creator, who has amassed 2.5 million followers online, makes comedic, short-form videos using Sylvanian toys for the last number of years.
The Japanese toy company, Epoch, has believes the creator is damaging its reputation and has accused her of copyright infringement.
Lawyers for Epoch said that both parties are “actively engaged in settlement discussions” in a filing for a case deadline extension until August 8.
The toy company is seeking damage reparations and a court order declaring that Ms. Von Engelbrechten has infringed copyright, committed acts of false endorsement and to stop her from creating any more videos with the dolls that infringes copyright.
