KILDARE youth worker Carol Hyland has been nominated for the 2026 Beko & Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Award.

Originally from Emly, Co. Tipperary, Carol now lives outside Naas with husband, Paul and two children, Dáire (10), Éala (6) and Lúna the Cockapoo. Having studied applied social studies and social care in college, a job offer brought her to Kildare, where she now calls home.

A passionate youth work advocate, Carol is a strong believer in working with the community so that the community can grow. As a Project Leader at Core Youth Services in Inchicore, an independent community-based youth service, she has dedicated more than 20 years to supporting and inspiring young people.

Passionate about non-formal education, Carol also believes in the power of thinking outside the box to create fun, engaging learning experiences that connect young people.
