Kildare’s national roads have received funding of €4,000,000.
A substantial amount of the funding will go towards the National Roads Office Improvement Supports (€2,001,000), M4 Bus priority measures (€450,000) and motorway lighting, winter maintenance and route lighting works (€350,000).
The allocation was welcomed by local TD, higher education minister James Lawless.
“Road funding under the current NDP is set to increase throughout the remainder of the decade.
“A separate allocation of approximately €33 million is being provided to local authorities throughout the country including Kildare County Council for regular maintenance of our National Roads.”
He also cited the €11,000,000 allocated for Kildare road restoration that was recently announced for the county's regional and rural roads.
