LIVE BLOG: Athy v Eadestown in the Senior Football Championship

Cedral St Conleths Park this evening
Full time - An impressive win for Athy. Their performance did drop off a little in the second half but they had the hard work done in the first half where a scintillating display ripped Eadestown asunder -
63 mins - Ben Purcell almost wraps things up with a carbon copy of his first half goal, this time the ball hits the inside of the post after dropping over Sargent's head
61 mins - In the first of three added minutes, Niall Kelly palms the ball over the bar after Athy cut through the Eadestown defence -
60 mins - Another yellow card for Eadestown, this one to Murphy who has just come on
59 mins - Harry Carroll shown a black card, Niall Kelly scores the free. Eadestown bring Calum Murphy on for McGettrick as this one is petering out -
55 mins - Daire Dillon shown a yellow card for a foul on Moran, Niall Kelly scores from the free -
53 mins - The game is over as a contest since before half time but Athy certainly haven't been as fluent going forward in this half and have scored just four points int this half so far, Eadestown deserve some credit for that as they have tightened up at the back
51 mins - Some of the Eadestown supporters thought Dara McGettrick's shot was in the net but it was the wrong side of the post and only hit the side netting
50 mins - Ben Fitzsimons next to get a yellow for a tackle on Barry Kelly. Athy make a double sub, Jack Dooley and Brian Kelly on for Conor Doyle and Ronan Kelly
49 mins - Niall Kelly scores under pressure -
46 mins - David Hyland at the heart of a move that ends with James McGrath shooting straight at Shane Sargent. At the far end, James Rouycroft is unconvincing under a high dropping ball and deflects it out for a 45
42 mins - A couple of separate flashpoints end with yellow cards for Charlie Carroll and Niall Kelly
40 mins- Eadestown's Conor McCarthy becomes the second man into the referee's notebook
37 mins - A first shot from two point range of the game goes through the posts from a free by Eadestown's Niall Cummins -
33 mins - All too easy for Athy as Moran sends Michael Spillane through, he maybe could have went for goal but settles with fisting the ball over the ball, Ronan Kelly quickly follows with another point -
31 mins - Athy don't have to wait long for their first score of the second half, Barry Kelly with it -
8.14pm - Second half is underway, half time sub for Eadestown, Conor McCarthy for Bracken O’Brien
Half time - Two very contrasting displays there in that half, Ross Bell and Conor Ronan will be delighted with what they have seen so far. Rian Boran is a big miss for Eadestown but Emmet Bolton will want much more his side in the second half -
32 mins - Patient play by Eadestown ends with Pauric Touhy scoring a fine effort from the right, their best moment of the half -
30 mins - Niall Kelly scores from a free that he earned himself, two minutes to be added on -
27 mins - Eadestown need some inspiration and magnificent catch in midfield by Niall Cummins leads to a free which Conneff drops over the bar
26 mins - The scores keep coming for Athy, Barry Kelly with this one -
25 mins - Diagonal ball by David Hyland picks out Moran who scores his fourth point of the half, Eadestown can't handle the teenager -
23 mins - Purcell and Moran score in quick succession, Eadestown need to get a grip of this quickly before it gets out of hand -
22 mins - First half sub for Athy, Michael Spillane on for Lawlor, which can only be due to him picking up that yellow card
21 mins - Nice interplay with Athy ends with a Niall Kelly point -
18 mins - Ronan Kelly fists over at the second attempt -
16 mins - Darren Lawlor is shown a yellow card after a second foul and Eoin Conneff converts the free for a badly needed score for Eadestown-
15 mins - Moran continues to catch the eye, super score under pressure -
13 mins - Moran turning provider now. First of sets up former Tyrone star Cathal McCarron but his shot is off target, a pass to Ben Purcell ends with a point thought. All one way traffic at the moment -
10 mins - Colm Moran is a serious young talent. He's causing a lot of problems already and now has a point to his name -
8 mins - Goal for Athy! But it's a bit of a freak effort that won't make many highlight reels. Ben Purcell's effort loops over the head of Shane Sargent and into the net, Niall Kelly then tags on a point -
6 mins - Kildare's Tailteann Cup winning captain Kevin Feely scores Athy's first point after being set up by Ronan Kelly, and then seconds later Brian Maher punches over -
2 mins - Charlie Carroll opens the scoring for Eadestown
7.30pm - The game gets underway on time just as the fire alarm ends
7.29pm - There is a fire alarm here in St Conleths Park and an announcement to evacuate the stand but that looks like it will be ignored and the game is set to start on time!
7.27pm - Teams are confirmed, the big absence for Eadestown is Rian Boran, Cian Bolton was also named to start in the programme but isn't the team. While Athy include exciting youngsters Colm Moran and Ronan Kelly in their starting XV
