A MAN in his 40s has been charged following the seizure of cannabis worth an estimated €400,000 during a joint operation by Gardaí and Revenue officers in County Kildare.

The arrest was made on Friday, 13 March 2026, after Revenue officers seized approximately 20kg of suspected illegal cannabis as part of an intelligence-led operation.

The operation involved the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Kildare South Divisional Drugs Unit, and Revenue Commissioners Customs Service.

The seized drugs have been sent for analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

The man, who was arrested by An Garda Síochána and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in Kildare, has since been formally charged.

He appeared before Naas District Court at 7pm on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
