GARDAÍ have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man in his 80s died in a single-vehicle collision on the Curragh Road in Kildare town yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1.35pm on November 26, 2025. The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Coroner was notified, and the man’s body was taken to Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The crash site was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also asking road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, who were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday to make the footage available to investigators.
