A MAN who literally kicked the bucket in an ambulance and survived had a bench warrant issued for his arrest last week (20 March).
Sam Garvey (26) with addresses at The Parks, Sallins Road, Naas and the Peter McVerry Trust, Eyre Street, Newbridge was due to appear in Naas District Court to face two charges of criminal damage and one of assault, stemming from an incident that allegedly happened on 31 May last.
The court heard in brief outline how Garvey was being transported to Naas General Hospital on the day in question when “he became aggressive and assaulted a paramedic”.
“When they got to the hospital, he then kicked in a window and then a bucket,” said Sergeant Dave Hanrahan.
The respective value of the damage was estimated at €50 and €20.
However, when Judge Desmond Zaidan realised that Garvey was a no-show in court, he immediately issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
