It was a very happy Naas Manager, Damian McGrath, who celebrated his players four in a row of Kildare Senior Camogie titles as “a major achievement” following the comprehensive victory over first time finalists, Maynooth.
McGrath confirmed that he had to make adjustments early on to deal with the strong opening from the challengers.
“You could see the game plan they had and it probably took us a couple of minutes to adjust to it. We made a couple of personnel moves on the pitch and that started to pay off for us and we began to get into a bit of flow,” he said.
“At half time we were in control, we had weathered that storm and it was just about us in the second half maintaining and building on it,” he added.

The Naas manager agreed that there was unfinished business for his team in Leinster after coming so close last year when they lost by the minimum to Laois side St Brigids.
“It’s still in the back of the mind, that one point defeat," McGrath said.
"Very difficult to take at the time so look we will see how we go. We’ll get back to training this week and we’ll get ourselves set for three weeks time when we are out in the first round.”
With the appointment of Rob O’Neill as the new Kildare senior camogie manager, Damian McGrath believes his players will return to the Kildare panel for 2026 after missing out in 2025.
“I think for whatever reason last year it just didn’t work at the time for the players," he said.
"They made their decision but I’d say that this year a good few will go in and they will support the county.
"Best of luck to Rob and his management team. I think he’s got the tools there now to be successful so hopefully it will be a good year for Kildare in 2026,” he concluded
