Plans to install new bus shelters in Maddenstown near the Curragh are set to move ahead, with works now scheduled to begin in May, according to the latest update from the council.
The issue was raised at a Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting by cllr Pat Balfe, who sought clarity on the timeline for the construction and installation of the proposed bus stops and shelters, as well as confirmation that the project had progressed through the necessary procurement and approval stages.
In response, council officials confirmed that the Maddenstown works form part of a wider batch of bus shelter projects that has reached the tender stage, and indicated that construction is scheduled to commence in May.
However, the council noted that the start date remains subject to final approval from the National Transport Authority (NTA) and the availability of bus shelter units.
