New cost rental homes coming soon to Newbridge

Those who meet the criteria will be entered into a lottery

Applications for new Cost Rental houses at Páirc Na Manach in Newbridge are due to open in September. Those who meet the criteria will be entered into a lottery.

In the first phase, interested applicants will be able to register their interest for one of the 11 brand new, A-rated homes, comprising four two-bed houses, five three-bed houses and two four-bed houses. Rent for a two-bed house is €1,341 per month, a three-bed house is €1,490 and a four-bed house is €1,639. These rents represent a 25% discount on current market rents in the area.

In addition to the low cost to run these brand-new homes, new Cost Rental residents will also benefit from secure, life-long tenancies.

The new homes are part of the wider Páirc na Manach development and are within walking distance of Newbridge town centre. The scheme benefits from good public transports links to avail of local services, along with access to the M7 for broader connection.

To be eligible to rent one of these new Cost Rental homes, applicants must be able to prove their net household income is below €59,000 per year, they are not receiving any social housing supports, such as HAP or Rent Supplement, they can afford the rent, they don’t own a property, and the household is the correct size for the home.

“We are delighted to be providing more secure, high-quality Cost Rental homes to the people of Kildare,” said John Cotterell, Head of Housing Management, Clúid Housing. “We know from our first Cost Rental residents in Newbridge, in the Paddocks, what a difference a secure long-term tenancy can make to their lives. Without the worry of unexpected rent increases or termination of their tenancy, our residents can put down roots and make plans for their future. These latest homes will allow 11 more households to do the same.”

The homes will be advertised on Daft and on the Clúid website and social media accounts and applications will be open for one week. Applicants who meet the criteria will be entered into a lottery to allocate the homes. Successful applicants will have three days to enter their supporting documents.

Clúid expects the first residents to begin moving in in the autumn.
