Newbridge amentites require masterplan

St Conleth's Bridge, Newbridge
A MASTERPLAN will be required to develop recreational amenities at Lakeside Park, Dara Park and Highfield in Newbridge, councillors at the November meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge MD have been told. In answer to a question from cllr Tom McDonnell, the Council's Parks and Landscape office said the masterplan can be considered for the 2025 works programme.
The councillor also sought timelines for providing the amenities, but the report noted that any timeframes will have to be considered in the context of completing existing commitments first.
The councillor accepted the report without discussion.
Separately, the current programme to provide Safe Routes to Schools with funding from the National Transport Authority does not include Scoil Na Naomh Uilig at Richardstown, cllr Peggy O'Dwyer was told at the November meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District.
The official answer to her question indicated that the school can be considered for future schemes, 'funding permitting'.
Cllr O'Dwyer noted, as a point of clarification, that at a meeting with the NTA a few months ago, it had been indicated to councillors that funding is available.
She said the matter probably needed to go to a director to be further progressed.
