Newbridge driver fined for tinted windows

KILDARE Gardaí have issued an €80 fine and two penalty points to a driver with ultra-tinted windows.

While on patrol, they stopped the car to check the windows as they looked to be very dark.

On inspection they found that the car’s window tint tested at 23% on the tint meter, which is below the legal requirement of 65%.

After posting about it on the Kildare Garda Facebook page, commenters had a field day poking fun at the situation.

One commenter wrote sarcastically: “I’ll sleep well tonight knowing that monster is off the streets.” 

Another wrote: “Go catch some real criminals.” 

While another commenter wrote in defence of the Gardaí: “Everyone knows you can’t have dark tint on front windows, so don’t do it, very simple. Well done Guards.”
