Newbridge Library to relocate next year
Liffey Lodge, the temporary location of Newbridge Library during the construction of the upgrade
Kildare County Council has announced that the construction of the new Newbridge Library and Local Studies Centre is due to commence in 2026.
However, as the new state-of-the-art library will be built on the existing site of the current Newbridge Community Library, therefore, before construction commences the Newbridge Library will temporarily close on Thursday, 11 December at 8pm to facilitate an important move to Liffey Lodge, Newbridge.
Liffey Lodge will serve as the temporary home for the library and will ensures that services remain accessible to the community throughout the construction period.
As part of the relocation to the temporary premises, library users are advised that from Saturday, 22 November there will be no in-library request service.
Customers can request items online and select an alternative Kildare library as a collection point.
Library membership is valid in any Kildare library and your is open online 24/7.
The library service no longer charges fines for late items, though library users wishing to return library items can do so at any other Kildare library.
We would like to thank our customers for your patience during this transitional phase and look forward to welcoming you to our temporary location in 2026, while your new library is under construction.
