No plans to use Kildare hotel as IPAS centre
The former Red House Hotel, Ladytown
The COUNCIL has confirmed that there are no current proposals for the long-term use of the former Red House Hotel to accommodate international protection applicants.
The former hotel, which was entered into the derelict site register in 2021, was originally a landmark hotel, but suffered extensive damage during a fire in 2005.
The clarification was provided in response to a question from cllr Peggy O’Dwyer, who asked the council to give an update on any proposed long-term use of the vacant premises.
The council’s integration directorate stated that the International Protection Procurement Service (IPPS) has not referred any proposal relating to the Red House Hotel to the council.
