NO road works have been completed for ten junctions included in a report for major junction upgrade works issued to Kildare-Newbridge MD in 2022.
At a recent sitting of Kildare-Newbridge MD, cllr Tracey O’Dwyer sought an update on the status of Lumville and Baroda Junctions as part of preparations for the council’s 2026 transport junction works programme.
Cllr O’Dwyer asked whether the council could provide a detailed update on both junctions ahead of the planned works.
In response, the council said the position on Lumville junction remains unchanged since a report issued in 2022. It confirmed that the junction is not included in the current junction improvement programme, as it does not meet the criteria for phase 1 works. Regarding Baroda junction, the council said further clarification on its status will be provided once the relevant project information has been confirmed.
In response to the report before her, cllr O’Dwyer asked what junctions on the list have been completed.
A transport department representative said that of the ten junctions listed in 2022, five were progressed in 2023, but have not been delivered. Three of those progressed five are expected to be delivered later in the year.
