Planning lodged for new Athy car wash
The application has been submitted a second time by Cork-based firm Washwell Forecourt Services
A PLAN to build a carwash facility on the Carlow Road in Athy has been re-submitted to Kildare County Council, having been previously rejected last November.
The application has been submitted a second time by Cork-based firm Washwell Forecourt Services who have been in business for 17 years, and the development is to be located adjacent to Noonan’s Emo at Mount Offaly, half way between St Mary’s and the bypass.
The plan calls for a three-bay development, with one automatic and two for hand-washing with power hoses, exactly as it did last October, with all thee bays to be under canopy.
There will also be three bays for valeting and vacuuming, as was included in the previous plan.
Because this plan is in its infancy, no documents have yet been made public on the council website indicating it planning history. A decision on the facility is expected by mid-November.
