Plans lodged for 12-unit industrial development in Kildare
Momentum Logistics Park
A PLANNING application has been lodged with Kildare Council for a new 12-unit industrial and warehousing development at Momentum Logistics Park in Ladytown, Naas, as part of a wider €100 million investment programme for the business park.
The application, submitted by Green Urban Logistics Development Corporation Limited, seeks permission for two new warehousing, industrial and manufacturing buildings on a 2.157-hectare greenfield site known as Site 35b.
The proposed development would provide approximately 9,013 square metres of floor space across 12 individual units, with six units in each building.
Plans also include 130 car parking spaces, seven motorcycle spaces, 112 bicycle spaces, 12 van loading areas and a new vehicular entrance from Rowan Tree Road. Rooftop photovoltaic solar panelsare also proposed.
Site 35b is located within Momentum Logistics Park, formerly known as Naas Enterprise Park, which is currently undergoing a major rebranding and regeneration programme.
The applicant has announced plans to transform the park into what it describes as a "best-in-class" logistics hub, with an investment of more than €100 million in new facilities, public realm improvements and sustainability initiatives.
The wider vision for the 100-acre park includes new pedestrian and cycling networks, enhanced lighting, landscaping, picnic and meeting areas, shelters and outdoor gym equipment.
The park currently accommodates around 100 occupiers across more than 139,000 square metres of industrial and office space, with tenants including Penneys, Domino's Pizza, DSV, the HSE and Conlan BMW.
A number of planning applications have already been approved as part of the regeneration programme, including public realm upgrades such as shelters, picnic facilities and meeting places, coffee offerings, outdoor gym equipment, and a five-a-side football field.
