Plans lodged for almost 100 houses in Sallins

A PLANNING application has been submitted for the construction of a mixed-use development on lands near the Sallins Link Road, comprising 99 residential units and a creche facility.

The proposed residential element by Neville Homes Limited includes 75 houses and 24 own-door duplex apartments. The houses would feature a mix of two- and three-storey semi-detached and terraced dwellings, made up of 63 three-bedroom and 12 four-bedroom units.

The duplex apartments would be arranged in four three-storey buildings, offering a total of 10 one-bedroom, 12 two-bedroom, and two three-bedroom units, each with its own balcony or terrace.

A single-storey creche, extending to approximately 207 square metres and including an outdoor play area, is also part of the plans.

The development would feature a vehicular and pedestrian entrance from Sallins Link Road, as well as a pedestrian link to the Grand Canal Greenway.

It would also include internal access roads, “homezones”, footpaths, cycle lanes, 131 car parking spaces, bicycle parking, bin storage, substations, landscaped public open spaces, boundary treatments, and entrance signage.

The application also seeks permission for temporary construction access from Sallins Link Road, the demolition of an existing agricultural shed, drainage infrastructure, and all associated site works and services.
