Popular Kildare hair salon to close its doors after 34 years

A popular hair salon in Newbridge, Co Kildare has announced that it will shut after more than three decades.

In a statement posted on social media last night, Strands Hair Studio on Limerick Lane revealed that it will close its doors for the final time on Saturday 14 September following 34 years in business.

“This wasn’t a decision that was taken lightly and combined with ongoing rising costs and personal situations we decided that the time had come,” they said.

“Over the years we’ve welcomed so many new faces to the salon, both staff and customers. Some of which are still with us today. We’ve had many a laugh, cry and gossip together.

“Everyone who has worked with us and crossed out door as a client has made Strands the success story it is and without you, we wouldn’t have lasted the 34 years in the heart of Newbridge.” They noted a special thanks to staff members Mel, Dave, Sabrina, Peig, Aliesha and Lauren, for all their hard work and contributions to the business.

They urge anyone with vouchers to get in contact and to please use them before 14 September.
