The Kildare player explained the utter shock they felt checking their online account that night

An online player from Kildare was thrilled to make the trip to Lottery Headquarters to collect the incredible amount of €500,000 after scooping the EuroMillions Plus top prize two weeks ago.

The Tuesday 9 July draw saw the online player become the 12th EuroMillions Plus top prize winner of the year to date.

The Kildare player explained the utter shock they felt checking their online account that night.

“I got the email to say that I had won something, but the email doesn’t give anything away about just how much it could be so of course I logged straight into my account to see what it was. When I saw nothing added to my online wallet, I was thinking that it had to be over €100 but I never thought it was the actual top prize. When I saw the amount on my ticket, I was in total disbelief.

“I was the only one still awake in the house which didn’t help! I ran straight upstairs to wake my partner up and said 'quick, check how many zeroes are on the screen'! It was quite the wake-up shock I’m sure but highly necessary. I don’t think either of us could believe our eyes.” The top prize winner admitted to still being in shock but is looking forward to some future planning with the windfall.

“The last two weeks have been a bit of a blur to be honest. It’s hard to comprehend just how truly life-changing this has all been but seeing the cheque in front of me now is making it even more real. I have no idea what to do with the winnings just yet but with the cheque in hand now, it’s time to get planning!”
