KILDARE County Council announced that repair works are on the way for the damaged Carnalway Bridge in Kilcullen.
The bridge, which took significant damage after a road collision at the beginning of January, has been an area of caution for drivers.
Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer brought a question to the February sitting of Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, asking the council if a survey had been carried out on the bridge, and if it advises on recommendations and next steps.
The council responded that it has arranged for the damage to the bridge parapet to be repaired by a bridge contractor as soon as possible, including that as many of the existing capstones will be used during the repair as possible.
