Missing from Leighlinbridge

GARDAÍ have stood down the search for a man who had been missing from Leighlinbridge since Wednesday, following the discovery of a body this afternoon.

45-year-old Yurii Kuzminskyi, a Ukrainian national, had just arrived in Leighlinbridge four weeks ago with his wife and nine-year-old son.

The family had been living in The Garrison estate in the village and Yurii had developed a love of walking along the banks of the River Barrow.

After his disappearance on Wednesday, local gardaí mounted a search and were assisted by members of the civil defence.

An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this matter.
