Speeding learner driver in Kildare tests positive for cocaine

Kildare gardaí arrested a learner Kildare driver who tested positive for cocaine following a road stop recently.
The An Garda Siochana Facebook page said the Naas Roads Policing Unit were operating a recent speed check on the R415 at Rathbride.
‘They detected a car driven by an Unaccompanied Learner Permit Holder travelling at a speed of 91km/h in 60km/h Zone.
‘This driver was drug tested and returned positive for cocaine. The driver was then arrested for Drug Driving and their vehicle was impounded.’ FCPNs will now be issued for the speeding and learner driving offences but, more seriously, a court appearance now beckons for the driver.
