Students honoured at Athy FETC Award Night

IT was an evening of celebration and recognition as students were honoured at the Athy Further Education and Training Centre QQI Annual Award on Thursday 28 May.

It was a special night for the VTOS (Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme) and BTEI (Back to Education Initiative) students who were celebrating their hard work and achievements with friends and family.

Students were presented with QQI Certificates in Healthcare, Applied Social Studies, Business, Health and Fitness, Office Skills, Computer Skills, and Communications.
Joining them to help them in their celebrations were VTOS and BTEI Co-ordinator, Niamh Dowling, KWETB Adult Education Officer, Una Burke and the teaching staff, while music was provided by the wonderful Music Generation.

Athy Further Education and Training centre provides a range of part-time and full-time courses for adult learners in a welcoming and supportive environment.

They offer basic computers, English language and one to one literacy support as well as QQI courses in Level 3, 4 & 5. Major awards offered included Community Health Services, Applied Social Studies, Business Administration and Early Learning and Care.

In addition, Athy Further Education and Training Centre provides an education and career guidance service which is open to all.
