NEWBRIDGE residents might benefit from new play areas in the future.
Cllr Pender asked the council for an update on the delivery of planned play areas in Newbridge, including timelines and locations at the most recent Newbridge-Kildare MD meeting.
In a report issued by the Acting Senior Parks and Landscaping Officer, the council confirmed that preliminary work is underway on the preparation of a master plan for Lakeside Park. The plan will identify a suitable location for a new playground as well as other amenities.
As part of the process, a public questionnaire will be circulated in the coming weeks to gather local views on what facilities and amenities should be developed in the park. The feedback will then be used to help shape the final design.
Meanwhile, initial development work has begun at Moorefield Park. However, progress on tendering has been delayed due to the prioritisation of other ongoing projects. The council stated that it hopes to move to the tender stage by the end of the year.
