Support pours in for young Kildare jockey with life-changing injury

More than €78,000 has been raised for a young jockey from Co Kildare who suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up in aid of 24-year-old Aaron Fahey who was involved in an accident in August of this year.
According to the
, Aaron is the son of racehorse trainer Paul Fahey.His family explain: “The future for Aaron is unknown, and he faces a long journey to recovery. Aaron will need to make adaptions to his home, in order for it to be accessible and give him the support that he needs to live an independent life. He will also need to have his car modified to maintain his independence.
They want Aaron to “live the life of any other young person. He is a positive and resilient person, and he deserves the best chance at living a normal life.
“The support that Aaron has received so far from family, friends and the racing community has been incredible. It will never be forgotten.” The GoFundMe was created on 30 August and donations have flooded in – at time of writing yesterday (Monday) almost €79,000 had been raised.
