Taste of Kildare opens in Naas today

The Taste of Kildare Festival of Food and Drink will return to Naas Racecourse this weekend (16-17 August).
Brought to you by Into Kildare and supported Kildare County Council’s and the Local Enterprise Office, the racecourse will come alive with a celebration of food, drink, live entertainment, and family fun, showcasing County Kildare’s finest culinary offerings.
The weekend forecast looks promising, adding to the excitement as preparations get underway for what is set to be the festival’s largest and most exciting year to date.
Over the weekend, visitors can expect an array of culinary delights, and whether you’re in the mood for fine dining, street food, wine tasting or exclusive dining experiences, the Taste of Kildare offers something for everyone.
For those looking to indulge, the Keadeen Hotel offers table service and panoramic views of the racecourse from The Circle.
Food trucks will serve up mouth-watering street food, including Legendary Chicken Wings from Lock 13, Wagyu burgers from Donadea Wagyu, Kildare Lamb Kofta Wrap from the Osprey Hotel, Chocolate covered Churros from the Shoda, Pizza from the Food Junkie and Acia bowls from Oakberry.
In the BBQ area, The K Club will be serving Bubbledogs – a unique pairing of sizzling hot dogs and crisp Champagne.
Meanwhile at Lily & Wild, the aroma will draw you in, with smoky options including grilled seafood that’s perfect for summer vibes and festival feasting.
From ice-cold local craft beers to bubbles in your glass from Fizz Bizz, our drink vendors have you covered.
Sip your way through the festival with a selection of refreshing prosecco, crisp ciders, and creative cocktails that are perfect for toasting to good times.
Plus, don’t miss the Summer Wine Fair, where you can taste a handpicked selection of fine wines (additional cost).
“We are so excited to welcome everyone to this year’s Taste of Kildare,” said Áine Mangan, CEO of Into Kildare the Tourism body for County Kildare.
“The festival will be an amazing experience with something for everyone—from fabulous food and live music to family fun all weekend.
“It’s a great location. People can walk in and out from Naas town and we have a complimentary shuttle bus running.” The Chefs' Theatre will showcase some of Ireland’s top chefs including Rachel Allen, Gary O’Hanlon, Aisling Larkin as well as number of local chefs from the Killashee Hotel, the Keadeen Hotel and the Glenroyal Hotel.
Popular last year was the GATHER craft market, featuring products made by local artisans from the LEO Kildare Creative Cluster.
Visitors can browse through handmade crafts, boutique goods, and unique Kildare-made products, offering a chance to take home a piece of Kildare’s creativity.
Entertainment will be provided for kids over both days making the festival a family-friendly experience.
There will be crafts activities from Tribe Arts Studio, and a hands-on science show from Junior Einsteins, a bouncing castle, face-painting, games and arts.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will also enjoy an exciting lineup of live music across all four sessions, including performances by Newbridge Gospel Choir, Music Generation Kildare, Spring Break, Superfly and Noughty Tribute.
Closing out the festival, for those who couldn’t get tickets to the real thing, will be Morning Glory, an Oasis tribute band, delivering all the anthems and attitude of the iconic legends.
Tickets are available at www.tasteofkildare.ie/tickets, with general admission starting from €15, however tickets at the gate will be €20, so be sure to grab yours in advance.
Bundle tickets, at €28 per person, offer admission and signature dishes from participating vendors.
Group, VIP Lounge, Wine Tasting and corporate bookings are also available.
Free parking is available on-site, with a complimentary shuttle service running from Naas town centre and Sallins Train station.
