Tenants awarded new social homes in Kildare
La Touche Park, Kilcullen
SOME 35 tenants have been welcomed into new social homes just before Christmas at La Touche Park, Kilcullen by Approved Housing Body, Respond.
The tenants have found their homes in the 15 available social houses, including four 3-bedroom semi-detached houses, seven 2-bedroom mid-terrace houses, and four 1-bedroom duplex apartments.
Grainne Vickers, a tenant who moved in prior to Christmas, said: “I was so lucky to receive keys to my beautiful new home just before Christmas. I’m settling in now and really looking forward to spring. Thanks so much to Respond.”
All homes are designed and built to high-quality, sustainable standards, achieving an A-rated BER to improve energy efficiency and helping reduce household running costs.
The 1.1-acre site is located just north of Kilcullen town centre and is approximately a 1.4km walk from the main street, which offers a range of cafes, restaurants and shops. The area is also home to local GAA and soccer clubs in the area, providing opportunities for children and families to engage in community life.
The estate is also within a 10-minute drive of both local primary and secondary schools.
Respond currently provides homes for over 20,000 people in more than 9,000 homes across Ireland. The organisation has approximately 3,500 homes under construction, as it accelerates delivery of social and cost rental housing across Ireland.
These homes were delivered through a combination of funding from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Capital Advance Leasing Facility, alongside finance from the Housing Finance Agency. Construction was led by Sayvale 21 Limited and Jem Construction.
