Electric vehicle (EV) sales are accelerating in Ireland, with a remarkable 25 per cent increase for battery electric vehicles and 60 per cent increase for plug-in hybrid vehicles in the first three months of 2025 compared to the same time period in 2024, according to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI).
Reflecting this trend, the Nevo Driving Experience in partnership with Bank of Ireland is coming to the Curragh Racecourse, offering EV enthusiast and curious motorists an chance to experience the latest EV technology firsthand. Hosted at The Curragh Racecourse, Kildare, on Sunday 15 June, the event runs from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm and is free to attend with registration required at nevo.ie/electric-vehicle-show.
Powered by SSE Airtricity, the Nevo Driving Experience will deliver a day of EV test drives, expert advice, and informative panel discussions. Attendees can test drive the newest models from many of Ireland’s top automotive brands, browse EVs on display inside the arena, and speak directly with local EV specialists and franchise dealers.

With limited test drive slots available, advance registration is highly recommended to secure a place. In addition to the driving experiences, visitors can attend live panel sessions covering topics such as "EV Ownership: Busting Myths and Making it Real," "EV Showdown: Finding the Right EV for You," and "New EV Owner Bootcamp: Tips and Tricks."
"The impressive growth in EV sales shows real momentum in Ireland’s Southeast," said Derek Reilly, EV Expert at Nevo.ie. "We’re excited to bring the Nevo Driving Experience to The Curragh Racecourse, helping more people discover the benefits of electric driving and supporting the shift toward a greener future."
