WITH Halloween just around the corner, Athy Town Promoters are inviting residents to mark their calendars for this year’s town celebration. On Saturday 31 October from 6.30pm, all in Athy are welcome to attend the free community event, taking place on Emily Square.
Residents can expect an evening of entertainment, costumes, music and plenty of surprises.
There will be a fancy dress parade starting from Woodstock Street, which will be led by the Hit Drummers, along with the ever-popular best carved pumpkin competition and a best Halloween shop window display competition, giving local businesses the chance to get creative and bring some spooky spirit to the town.
This year’s entertainment will include a spectacular fire and aerial hoop show, along with spooky characters, stilt walkers and plenty of Halloween fun.
Athy Town Promoters are also encouraging the local community to enjoy Halloween safely and responsibly and, once again, are asking residents not to contribute to bonfires.
The initiative aims to protect the environment, reduce the risk of injury and help keep families, homes and the wider community safe.
Fancy dress is encouraged, so come along in your best spooky garb for the event!
