Corina Fitzgibbon with some of her extraordinary art

Kildare artist Corina Fitzgibbon recently opened her solo exhibition One Dot at a Time in Wexford.

Castledermot’s Corina is an award-winning pointillism artist (a technique of painting with small dots) and printmaker and in her exhibition One Dot at a Time she showcases a collection of intricate original pen drawings, illustrations and much more. Her exhibition is running in the Presentation Arts Centre in Enniscorthy Co, Wexford until March 1 2025.

Earlier this year Corina won the agility award from the National Arts Council, which has helped her fund this exhibition while focusing on creating new artworks for the show.

“My hope for this exhibition is to inspire adults and children to create, pick up a pen and paper or whatever they have on hand and just experiment. It’s tremendously good for the mind and so much fun.

"My goal for the exhibition is to bring joy and a sense of wonder and awe to the audience, to let them step into my world for a while. In the near future I would like to exhibit my work all over Ireland, while teaching people about pointillism and creativity.

“The Presentation Arts Centre team in Enniscorthy are truly wonderful and are working with me to curate and create this show One Dot at a Time in their gallery space and bring my pointillism world to life.”

Corina’s work is vastly inspired by nature and the beauty of Ireland, her dreams and surroundings. Although the process of each artwork is long and challenging, it’s all about the journey between the artist and the work of art for Corina.

“It takes a lot of patience to complete each artwork, but each piece is a journey for me, it is more about the process than the result. It’s about getting lost in the piece that I am creating and being purely in the moment, being so content in the process that time just melts away.”
