The Druids hit the US for the 32nd time this February

Kildare musician Gary Lawlor and his band, The Druids are set to go on a US tour, at the end of February, bringing their captivating live performances to a variety of venues across the country.

The established group, who won the Irish Folk Music Award for Best Live Act, will perform in New York, Connecticut, Michigan, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, including shows in New York City.

The four-piece ensemble, consisting of Mick O'Brien from Wexford, Gary Lawlor from Kildare, Neil Harney from Roscommon, and Kevin Rooney from Dublin, has become a major presence in the US music scene.

The band’s electrifying stage shows, blending songs, high-quality music, and storytelling, have garnered them a dedicated following, with fans often traveling great distances to experience their performances.

In a recent interview with Detroit’s radio station, Mick O’Brien shared his thoughts on the band's approach to storytelling, saying, "I believe the stories of Ireland are as much a part of the Irish national repertoire as the songs. In fact, these stories and songs are historical artifacts."

The Druids’ loyal fanbase continues to grow, as audiences are drawn to the band's unique ability to both educate and entertain.

Patrick Jonson, a radio host in Detroit, recently commented, “The Druids educate and entertain at their live show,” highlighting the band’s special connection with their listeners and heritage.
