Play inspired by Greek myth coming to Riverbank

THE Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge will host the play
between 20-23 November. Directed by Marina Carr, the play takes place in the Irish Midlands and is loosely based on the Greek Myth Medea.contains mystical and mythical elements including ghosts and centres on the character Hester Swane. The story tells us she was abandoned by her mother as a young child and the effects it has had on her life and relationships.
She’s a settled traveller whose partner Carthage Kilbride is also abandoning her and their child to marry another and further his own ambitions and greed. It’s directed by Mary Linehan and stars Martina Smith and Keith Walsh as the main characters.
We can promise you a play with plenty of drama, wonderful characters and live music onstage! The score was written and will be performed by local musician Mairead Carroll.
