AN inspiring display of creative talent was on show at Athy Day Hospital recently.

There a host of creative work including art, prose and gardening carried out by the service users of the South Kildare and West Wicklow Mental Health Service.

The ‘Cumasa’ display of the talents of service users. There are around 32 adults of varying ages attending the service and they all contributed to the event in some way.

“There is a lot of talented people who come here, talented writers, aspiring artists and it was opportunity to showcase their work,” said Emeline Cannon of Athy Day Hospital.

The one-day event celebrated the talent of patients come attend day hospital. There was a display of arts, poetry but other also craft work and gardening work.

The day service also does other therapies like talk therapy, baking while a horticulturist also attends.

The event was tremendous and both staff and service users are proud of their achievement.

There was a great turnout of service users and their families at the event while there was also a lot of support from the local community who helped make the event a success.
