SULT art exhibition in Straffan

THE SULT collective of Kildare multi-disciplinary artists have been invited to exhibit in Ardclough Village Centre, Straffan until end of December.
The title selected for this exhibition is ‘The Heart of me goes thinking long’, from the poem ***The Boreen*** by local poet and schoolteacher Nora J. Murray.
The exhibition will showcase work from SULT artists in a variety of media which include painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, drawing and mixed media.
The official opening was held on Friday night.
Ardclough Village Centre is housed in a building that served as Ardclough’s primary school, St Anne’s NS from 1949 to 2013. It is an exhibition and event centre for the village as well as a lovely café/restaurant.
Various aspects of local and regional history are commemorated with storyboard throughout the building, writers and artists such as Emily Lawless and Mary Redmond, patriots such as John Devoy and Valentine Lawless, horses and hurlers that won national international fame.
Opening hours are Wednesday to Sunday 9.30am to 3pm.
