A woman has been left with serious injuries after she was struck by a van in Cork city centre on Wednesday.

The incident happened at the junction of Anglesea Street and Anglesea Terrace at approximately 3:30 pm.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was taken to Cork University Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on Anglesea Street and Anglesea Terrace between 3:15 pm and 3.45 pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
