Castledermot raises €4,400 for Daffodil Day

Contributions are still coming in

The Daffodil Day 2026 collection in Castledermot raised €4,400 on Friday, 20 March in aid of The Irish Cancer Society, with many contributions yet to come as well as donations made online through mobile phone apps.

Ann Glynn was again involved in organising the Castledermot collection assisted by her colleagues from Castledermot I.C.A. Guild and great team of collectors and helpers who were busy from early morning to late evening.

She also thanks the local community centre Teach Diarmada for providing a room and the use of the kitchen for refreshments, the staff and pupils of Scoil Diarmada who contributed to the school’s Daffodil Day collection; local supermarkets Horan’s, Rath’s, and Behan’s for hosting collectors at their premises, and Rathvilly Garden Centre for providing lots of freshly cut daffodils for the day.

A marvellous community effort for this worthy cause.
