A CHARITY night in a Kildare town pub raised a staggering €10,650 for the Laura Lynn Foundation – and they’re not finished yet!

On 4 September, the James Nolan bar in Kildare hosted a Lip Sync Night in aid of the charity, and the Kildare Nationalist spoke with Christine Dempsey of Naas Property Management, who was part of the organising committee through the Network Ireland Kildare Branch.

“We had a raffle, an auction and nine participants, and every vote cost €5, so that’s how we raised it,” said the businesswoman.

“It was such a massive night. We had so many raffle prizes it felt like the raffle took all night!” she laughed.

“The sponsors were so generous, and the place was packed. It was a really well turned out event.

“My nephew is receiving the services of Laura Lynn, and it’s my chosen charity for 2026.

“Owen Fagan did the entertainment for the night and refused his payment, saying to put it bac into the fund.

The Lip Sync Night was the first of a trilogy of fundraising for Laura Lynn, with a table quiz back in James Nolan’s on 23 October, and the annual Kildare branch charity luncheon in Lawlors in Naas on 20 November.

“The tickets went on sale this week, and we’d be hoping to sell out fast,” said Christine.

“The tickets are €90 per person, or €900 for a table, and attendees would be asked to dig deep for the auction and the raffle,” she said.

Network Ireland Kildare branch has over 100 members and is chaired by Newbridge woman Xiaoxiao Mulhall.

It organises monthly events for members and guests to support women in their professional and personal development.

“We support our members and assist them in networking through introductions and interactions with other women in a supportive environment which offers training, mentoring and an opportunity for women who call on other members with specialist expertise for help,” said Christine.

It also provides a forum for established women to develop professional contacts, and membership is €195 per annum.
