Kildare Tidy Towns groups receive awards

A HOST of Kildare community groups received deserved recognition as the 2025 SuperValu TidyTowns awards for the Midlands and East region were presented in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire recently.

Naas Tidy Towns received the prestigious county award.
Gold medal winners in Kidlare were Ballymore Eustace, Celbridge, Clane, Kilcullen, Kill, Leixlip, Maynooth, Naas, Newbridge, Rathangan and Straffan Tidy Towns groups. Broadford Tidy Towns earned a silver medal while Johnstownbridge received an endeavour distinction.

Dalkey, winner of Ireland’s Tidiest Large Town as well as the deserving winner in this region, was presented with their awards by Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill T.D. and Edel Clancy, Corporate Affairs Director at SuperValu. SuperValu celebrate their 36th year of partnership and sponsorship of the competition this year.

At the ceremony, Minister Carroll MacNeill congratulated all the winners. She also referred to the competition’s popularity and long history, which this year celebrates 68 years of environmental and community initiatives.

Minister Carroll MacNeill said: “The excellent work undertaken by our TidyTowns groups makes our towns and villages better places in which to live, work, visit and invest.

“It’s a privilege to acknowledge this work this evening and to present the 2025 awards to TidyTowns volunteers from the nine counties in the Midlands and East region.”
